Patti Page’s 1959 remake version of her 1950 hit was charting (higher) at the same time as this instrumental

Patti Page – With My Eyes Wide Open I’m Dreaming(1959/07 version)
orchestra conducted by Vic Schoen

Pop Chart Peaks: Music Vendor 48, Cash Box 57, Billboard 59
As Tommy Edwards was riding a new wave of popularity by updating his early-1950s hits with new ‘souped-up’ arrangements (”It’s All In The Game” “Please Mr. Sun” “Morningside Of The Mountain”), Patti was one of several other artists who briefly attempted the same trick. As with her well-known 1950 hit

Patti Page Quartet – With My Eyes Wide Open I’m Dreaming(1950 her original version)
voices by Patti Page, Patti Page, Patti Page, Patti Page

As vocal multi-tracking was still pretty new at the time, and most people had never heard it done with as many as four voices, this fine recording (and its unusual label billing) drew a fair amount of attention. Patti’s 1948 self-duet on “Confess” had been a moderate success, but it’s this track that is commonly cited as her true break-through hit. It would be followed in coming months by “I Don’t Care If The Sun Don’t Shine” “All My Love” and “Tennessee Waltz”…quite a good year for the Singing Rage.
Though now most commonly associated with Patti, “With My Eyes Wide Open I’m Dreaming” had originated years earlier in the now-obscure Jack Oakie-Ben Bernie musical film “Shoot The Works” and enjoyed a measure of success via several 1934 recordings.

http://www.hochi.co.jp/entertainment/20150828-OHT1T50257.html
