先日、某情報番組で「クリスマスに苺と生クリームがのっかったデコレーションケーキを食するようになった、というのは不二家の販売戦略だった」なんてトリビアが紹介されていた。

僕らの世代だとクリスマス＝デコレーションケーキ。
誕生日もまた、＝デコレーションケーキなのだが、誕生日にもクリスマスにもデコレーションケーキを食ったという、明確な記憶がない。
ぜんぜん関係のない日に、三角に切られた、イチゴの乗ったショートケーキを食べた憶えはある。何があったのかね、そういう日は。

神のみ子は今宵しも （ラテン語：Adeste Fideles、英語：O Come, All Ye Faithful） は、イングランド人のジョン・フランシス・ウェードの作曲とされる讃美歌である。しかし、はっきりした作曲者はわかっておらず、今も論争が続いている。歌詞も、誰の手になるものかがはっきりしないが、１３世紀にジョン・オブ・レディングによって書かれていたのではないかと言われている[１]。幾度となく様々な言語に翻訳されたが、イングランドカトリック教会の聖職者であるフレデリック・オークリーによる英語訳が特に広まって行った。
