Googleトレンド（ https://www.google.co.jp/trends/ ）で、どのくらい検索されているか？ を指標に各イベントを調べてみました。

クリスマスの頂点になっている所を100とすると、各イベントの頂点は以下の通りです。

・クリスマス：100
・正月：30
・バレンタイン：49
・夏休み：10
・ハロウィン：61
やはり「クリスマス」は圧倒的人気ですね。

　英医学誌BMJ（British Medical journal）は１２月１６日、ヒトの脳には「クリスマス・スピリット」が存在するという研究結果を掲載した。

　研究チームではボランティアを集め、アンケートによってクリスマスを楽しめる「クリスマス・グループ」と、クリスマスを楽しめない「非クリスマス・グループ」にグループ分けした。被験者にクリスマス関連画像や関係のない画像を見せつつfMRI（核磁気共鳴画像装置を利用した脳内血流測定方法）によって脳活動を測定した。
　その結果、クリスマス・グループと非クリスマス・グループでは、クリスマス関連画像を見た際の脳の一部の活動において有意な差があることが分かった。この脳領域は、楽しい感情を共有する際の皮質や、顔感情の認識や社会的な繋がりに関連する部位であるという。
　研究者たちは「クリスマスの精神」が正確に突き止められたことにより、世界中の「クリスマスの精神欠乏症」に苦しむ患者を助ける第一歩になるとしており、さらに他の季節の祝い事や祭りでも同様の楽しめる脳内部位が存在するかどうかも研究課題になりうるとしている。

日本人でいうとちょうど忘年会・新年会か。

クリスマスといえばクリスマスツリー。しかし、そのツリーから煙が上がり、あわや火事、という事態が、たびたび起きている。
火元はツリーに飾られたイルミネーションが多いが、電気を送るコードやアダプタが発熱した、などという報告も相次いでいる。

Despite their inescapable presence throughout the Decembers of our lifetime, the “pop” music variety of winter seasonal and Christmas holiday songs were （with the exception of “Jingle Bells”） practically non-existent during the first one-third of the 20th Century. Then came 1934 with new recordings of not one but two of the most durable examples of the genre: “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town” and “Winter Wonderland,” with competing versions from the bands of Richard Himber （Victor）, Guy Lombardo （Decca）, and Ted Weems （Columbia）.

Ozzie’s band singer Harriet was still “Hilliard” when this was recorded, 11 months before she would become Mrs. Nelson.

This much-recorded Arthur Freed-Al Hoffman-Al Goodhart tune, as well as the flip side “Baby”, are two delightful sides from the final recording session credited to the orchestra of Felix Ferdinando. His four musician brothers （and one son） were said to have performed in his band at one time or another 1926-32, including Angelo Ferdinando, who recorded for Bluebird during the mid-1930s.
