レジナルド・フォーガディさん（６２）は西オーストラリア州のグレートビクトリア砂漠へ狩猟に出かけたが、７日、砂漠の中で獲物を追いかけているうちに道に迷った。Ｔシャツと半ズボンにサンダル履きという軽装だった。
警察は先住民アボリジニの助けを借りて地上と上空から大規模な捜索活動を展開。１３日になって、極度の脱水症状に陥ったフォーガディさんを発見した。
周辺に水はなく、発見されるまでの６日間、一切水は飲んでいなかった。この数日間は木の下に横たわり、クロアリを食べていたという。
フォーガディさんはその場で応急処置を受けて救助隊員と言葉を交わし、ヘリコプターで搬送された。

方向音痴が道に迷う、優柔不断で進路に迷う――いづれへ進むべきか迷うことはよくある。
砂漠のような所は道も目印もないし、空が曇れば天体の位置で見当をつけることすら儘ならないから、うっかり動くと死ぬかもしれないし、動かなくてもそのうち死ぬ。
ちょっと郊外へいくと、北海道ほどではないにせよ、どこまでも真っ直ぐな一本道があったりする。途中は大工場や倉庫ばかりで、一般人が普通に歩いてる感じがない。
そういう道も徒歩では危険だな。目的地があればいいけど、なければムダ足だ。
おれはやっぱりタクシーが容易に捉まる範囲がいい。

This is one of eight posted tracks recorded In 1935 by the Richard Himber orchestra that were never issued for consumer purchase but were distributed to radio stations on 33 1/3 Western Electric transcription discs for broadcast use.
As pseudonyms were commonly used on such media by artists who were currently under contract to a commercial record label, Richard Himber and vocalist Stuart Allen were identified on the disc label as “Larry Bradford” and “Stan Abbott.”

そもそもエステの施術全般に効果があるかどうかは大いに怪しい。
医学的に証明されてない民間療法は火傷の元。今回は凍ったが。

彼女たちが告白してくれたのは、下半身つるつるの目的のひとつは「いつか介護される日のために」というものだ。人生も残りの方が少なくなってきた筆者を含むアラフィフ以上の世代にとって、「いつか介護される自分」はもはや遠い未来の話ではない。
年を重ねると、ボディも古くなる。腸だって古くなるだろう。頑張ってメンテナンスしても、赤ちゃんのようないい香りは発しない。だんだん、筋肉も弱りしまりも悪くなり下へ下へと、ぶよついてくる。そうなれば、いろんな穴から、ムレてあまり好ましくないにおいもしてくるのが人間というものだろう。
つるつるとはいわなくとも、タンポポ程度の毛なら、将来的に介護で若い男性スタッフなどにお世話になるときもキレイにしてもらえそうだし、現時点でも婦人科特有の疾患も早期発見することができるし、生理中の不快感も減る、雑菌や下着によるムレ・においも軽減する、というからいいことばかりだ。
どうせやるなら、痛みに耐えられる今のうちに、また白毛が出てくる前（レーザーは黒い色に反応するようで、白毛の場合は、１本１本毛根を焼かなければならない）に。ということで、いつ脱毛するか？ 「今でしょ」となるわけである。下半身永久脱毛を決断する女子は、今後、アラフィフ世代以上にも広まっていくというのが筆者の読みだ。

女子は、脱毛だけでは満足できず、膣のアンチエイジングもしているというのである。

老人性乾皮症のため毎年この季節になると尿素入りローションを風呂あがりに塗ったりする。特に脛（すね）のあたりは痒みがヒドいのでローションは欠かせない。
ところがおれは毛深くて、毛に絡みつき、皮膚へしっかり塗り込めんのだ。
これは毎年イライラさせられることで、いっそのことバリカンですね毛を刈ってやろうかなどと考えたりもするが、そうするとズボンの生地が直接皮膚と擦れるので、あるいは痒みが増すのではという気もして、バリカンは先送りとなる。これが毎年の話。
