Lifelong Elvis fan KCRep visited Graceland in 2006 and shared this photos.’What I got out of this visit was something I had only dreamed about for years. Seeing the house Elvis spent most of his life in, touching the doorknob and staircase he had touched made me feel like he was there. It was just amazing and a true dream come true. Graceland is meaningful to me because it’s a place where even though Elvis died there, his legacy will live forever. Just months before I visited Graceland, it was declared a national monument. Standing in the Meditation Garden looking down on the gravestone, it was so peaceful. There is nowhere but Graceland to get those feelings of Elvis at peace.’

Standing at this graveside I felt peaceful, not sad for some reason. I stood there for a long time, it was hard to leave. Somehow it seems wrong when a gift from God is taken away at 42 years old.

MEMPHIS, Tennessee （AP） — Elvis Presley fans from around the world made their annual pilgrimage to Graceland to pay their respects to the rock n’ roll icon with a solemn candlelight vigil on the 36th anniversary of his death.
Thousands of Presley fans carried lit candles Thursday as they walked slowly and silently through the Mediation Garden at Graceland, Presley’s longtime Memphis home.
