At least 80 killed as truck crashes into Bastille Day crowd in Nice, France

PARIS — France’s national holiday turned bloody and violent Thursday night in the southern resort city of Nice, as a weapons-laden truck drove through crowds of Bastille Day revelers for more than a mile in an attack the French president labeled as terrorism.
The French Interior Ministry said at least 80 people were killed and at least 18 more critically wounded. By Friday morning, the death toll had climbed to 84. U.S. officials confirmed to CNN that two Americans were among the dead, but they didn’t release any names. The vehicle was a large white truck, similar to a tractor-trailer.

フランス南部ニースで１４日夜、群衆にトラックが猛スピードで突っ込んだテロ事件が起きた。仏捜査当局は１５日、射殺された実行犯をニース在住のフランスとチュニジアの二重国籍の男（３１）と特定した。仏内務省によると、死者は８４人で、１８人が重体。死者には複数の子どもも含まれていた。オランド大統領とバルス首相は同日、テロ現場に赴いた。
　地元紙ニース・マタンによると、男は過去に暴力行為などに関与した記録はあったが、過激思想などで情報機関の監視対象ではなかった。捜査当局は実行犯の過激思想との関連など事件の全容解明を急いでいる。
　当局は同日朝、ニース市北部の容疑者宅を家宅捜索した。親族からも事情を聴いている。テロに使ったトラックは１３日にレンタルされたものだという。実行犯は１人とみられるが、協力者がいなかったどうか調べている。
　仏政府は１５日朝、オランド大統領が出席して、関係閣僚会議を開き、対応を協議した。その後、事件があったニースに入る。バルス首相は会議後、１６日からの３日間、国として喪に服すと表明した上で「我々はテロとの戦争に直面している。国民の結束が必要だ」と呼びかけた。

A pickup truck ran over a crowd of people in the southern city of Nice, France, on Friday night, they were crowded to watch the fireworks on the occasion of the National Day celebrations, killing dozens of people dead and wounded.

 

2016/07/15 20:53 の時点で「イスラム国」が犯行声明を出していないらしい。
共鳴者の「勝手連」的テロなのか。
個人的動機によるものなのか。
あるいは旧植民地と旧宗主国の関係に起因する、別な動機なのか。

「イスラム国」（ＩＳ）系メディア「アマク通信」は１６日、南仏ニースで起きたテロについて「ＩＳ戦士の１人が呼び掛けに応じ、作戦を実行した」と報じた。
　ＩＳによる事実上の犯行声明だ。
　シリアやイラクでは、米軍主導の有志連合による対ＩＳ掃討作戦が続いている。ＩＳは支持者らに対し、インターネット上に出す声明などを通じ、有志連合参加国の国民を標的にテロを実行するよう求めてきた。

France: Nice residents spit on spot where Bastille Day attacker died
Passersby dropped debris and spat on the spot where Bastille Day attacker Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel was gunned down by police, on the Promenade des Anglais in Nice, Monday.
The spot where police stopped and killed Bouhlel was initially closed off to the public, but after the promenade was cleared and reopened, locals proceeded to desecrate the area writing “assassin” on the ground and littering the area with rubbish.
The attack in Nice on Thursday night killed 84 people and injured more than 200 when a truck was driven through crowds of people celebrating Bastille Day.
