“Calling all kazoos…..” Well, it may have just been an attempt at catching the the ears of the record buying public with a musical gimmick of sorts. Released in January 1965,’Where Did All The Good Times Go’ with its leanings toward the style of Phil Spectors work with a quirky inclusion of a duo of kazoos, is a head scratcher. Motown and the British invasion were in full swing at the time which made the arrangement of this recording sound as if it was released a couple of years too late. The flip side,’Hey Lover’ was a cover of a Debbie Dovale disc from September 1963 and not bad at all. Vocal credit on this Philips Records release is given to Ginny Satin. A clever girly name that was for some reason given to the gal whose real name was Diane King. She had already issued two discs prior on Decca （’Somebody Else’s Baby’ b/w’For The Love Of Mike’） and M~G~M （’Cry Bobby Cry’ b/w’My Heart Belongs To A Devil Of A Boy’） credited as Diane Castle. Her her last known single from September 1965 on the Claridge label,’That Kind Of Love’ b/w’Boy In The Raincoat’ she was credited as Diana King and the record is probably her best and highly recommended. After that disc, the whereabouts and goings on of Miss King are unknown. It is a pity really, as Diane had a wonderful voice both in the girl group style and as a single artist.
