文科省所管の地震調査研究推進本部が、九州の活断層２８を分析した結果、今後３０年の大地震発生確率がきわめて高いことが判明した。その規模はなんと最大Ｍ８を超える。折しも鹿児島の桜島が１月だけで１００回も噴火。大地震の予兆を示す戦慄のデータが頻出しているのだ。
「今後３０年、九州全域でＭ６・８以上の地震が発生する確率は３０～４２％」
地震調査研究推進本部の発表は衝撃的だった。
活断層研究の専門家である東洋大の渡辺満久教授に聞くと、
「活断層の長期評価で４０％というのは非常に高い数値だと思う」
と、今回発表された確率が示す危険性を語った。

東日本大震災で８００人近くが死亡・行方不明となった宮城県名取市・閖上地区（約１２０ヘクタール）の再建計画に関する住民説明会が１７日、同市増田の市文化会館で開かれた。計画が二転三転し、震災から２年５カ月が経過した現在も復興工事に着手できていない現状に、参加者からは「どうして閖上だけ（計画策定に）２年半もかかるのか」「住民の意見を無視するから復興が遅れている」などと不満の声が相次いだ。

明治～大正の貧民窟（不良住宅地区）整理、震災後の「復興」に名を借りた防空・防災都市化、戦後はその焼き直し・続きの区画整理。
都市計画はいつの時代も住民の意思とは関係なく、御上の都合で進められていく。これまでもそうだったし、これからも同じだろう。
昨年、朝鮮日報（６月１５日）に、「拡大する韓国型性産業、海外での実態」「『性産業輸出大国』韓国の恥ずかしい現実」として掲載された。驚くべき内容だった。
まず、海外での韓国人売春婦について、〈２０１０年１０月に行われた女性家族部（省に相当）への国会国政監査で、当時の金玉伊（キム・オクイ）議員（女性家族委員会所属）は『海外で売春をする韓国人女性の数は日本に約５万人、オーストラリアに約２５００人、グアムに約２５０人いるとみられ、全世界では１０万人余りに達する』と主張した〉とある。
海外売春の理由の１つを「カネ」と分析し、〈昨年５月にカナダの売春宿で警察に身柄を拘束された１０人の韓国人女性も『短時間でたくさん稼げると聞いて、つい来てしまった』と話した。売春宿を経営していた女性社長（３６）は、普段から女性たちに『１カ月に２０００万ウォン（約１７５万円）稼げる』と話していた〉と記している。
記事には、米国での外国人売春婦の割合も掲載されており、１位は韓国で２３・５％、２位はタイで１１・７％、３位はペルーで１０％とある。０４年に韓国内の売春禁止法が強化され、０８年にノービザでの米国旅行が可能になり、一気に流出し始めたようだ。
一方、韓国国内では、般若のような白塗り、白装束の売春婦が数百人規模で「仕事を自由にさせろ」とデモをし、その姿はインターネットで全世界に流れていた。
彼女たちは「私たちは性労働者、労働者には働く権利がある」とし、「成人男女の私的な行為に法律が介入するのは違憲」と法廷で主張し、現在、憲法裁判所で審議が進められている。

『半沢直樹』は中国人からも注目されている。物語が進むたびに多くのニュースサイトが報じ、主人公の決めゼリフ「やられたらやり返す、倍返しだ」は、中国語で「人若犯我、必然加倍奉還」などと訳され、現地でも広まりつつあるという。
中国サイトの掲示板でも『半沢直樹』に関する多くの書き込みが。「半沢グッズのキーホルダーがどうしても欲しい。どこで買える？」という悲痛な叫びや、「銀行員なのに、なんで工場に出向させられるの？」という素朴な質問、キャストの演技への論評などの幅広い意見が寄せられている。

なぜここまで中国人に受けるのか。
『中国人の取扱説明書』（日本文芸社刊）の著書があるジャーナリストの中田秀太郎氏は、中国の銀行員事情についてこう解説する。
「商都である上海では金融系を志す学生の多くが会計事務所を第一志望とし、銀行は滑り止めといった位置づけ。だから中国の銀行員は、日本におけるそれほどはエリートだとみなされていません。安定はしているけれども給料はそれほど高くなく、若手だと月給５０００元（約８万円）程度のようです」
「銀行員」の社会的地位には日中でギャップはあるようだが、ドラマの中身にこそ人気の秘密があると中田氏は続ける。
「中国では、このドラマに登場する名言『部下の手柄は上司のもの、上司の失敗は部下の責任』を地でいく責任転嫁が日常茶飯事です。素晴らしい機転で悪い上司に次々復讐していく半沢の姿は、日常的にそんな上司の脅威に晒される中国人サラリーマンにとってもスカッとする物語に映るはずです」

今年の流行語大賞は「じぇじぇじぇ」と「倍返し」のどちらかだという意見が多い。
人気のドラマだってことは知ってるけど、オレはどっちも見てないんだよね。
日本のドラマが海外で人気になる例はけっこうあるね。中東で『おしん』が流行ったのは、もうだいぶ昔の話だし、それよりもっと古く、１９６０、７０年代に日本のアニメやドラマがなぜかメキシコに大量に輸出されて、向こうで人気になったということがあった。

日本の特撮やアニメ作品からの影響ばかりが取り沙汰されがちな作品ではある。しかし、あれこれ元ネタ探しをするよりも、メキシコ人のデル・トロが自身幼いころから見続けてきたという日本のこども番組やこども映画、それを全部食って咀嚼した結果、あのデル・トロの巨体からドカンと出てきた成果物として『パシフィック・リム』は素直に観たい。何がどれとは言えないが、何だか懐かしい感触がする。

バイトの不祥事が後を絶ちませんが今度は宅配ピザ大手の「ピザハット」で、従業員がふざけた写真がTwitter上に流出しております。問題の写真はピザの生地を顔に当てて息が出来るかどうかという検証を行ったもので、顔面ピザのようなマスクを作成。この行為によって投稿者はたちまち炎上し本名やバイト先、そして学校名まで晒されるという事態に発展。この従業員がピザハットであるということは制服のデザイン等で判明した。

先日、微博（中国版ツイッター）に投稿された１枚の写真をきっかけに、中国人の間から、自国のマナーを嘆く声が噴出している。
今回問題となったのは、地下鉄の車内で大便をしている子どもの写真。１１月１０日２１時半ごろ、李小冷Ｓというユーザーが微博に投稿した写真には、地下鉄車内のドア脇で、手に紙を持ったまま座り込んでいる子どもの姿が撮されており、ズボンとパンツはすでに下りた状態だ。写真では大便そのものは写っていないため、本当にこの子どもが“した”のかどうかは定かではないが、下半身をさらけ出して座り込んでいる時点で、やはりおかしな光景には違いない。
そして写真と共に、李小冷Ｓは「今日はホント驚かされた！ （広州の）地下鉄３号線での一幕、誰もが間違いなく確認したんだけど、この子どもが大便をした！！ しかもでかいやつを！！ 子どもの父親はそばで傍観。身なりを見る限り、それほど悪い家庭ではないと思うけれど、教育レベルが低すぎる。大便を我慢することすらできないなんて！」と、興奮気味に当時の状況をコメントしている。

日本初の海外パックツアー『ジャルパック』が売りだされたのは１９６５年だった。当時の日本人観光客を揶揄した筒井康隆の『農協月へ行く』の初出はオール読物１９７３年５月号。
昔の日本人旅行客のマナーが悪かったかというと、現代の中国人観光客に比べればはるかに良かったと言わざるを得ない。
まず騒がない。静かなものだ。
外人（現地人）が眉をひそめ苦笑したのは、日本の旅館と同じ感覚でパジャマや寝間着、あるいはステテコのまま廊下に出てきたり、彼らにとっては常識のテーブルマナーをまったく知らなかったりした点であって、あくまで習慣や知識の問題だった。
それどころか大人しく、金離れがいいというので、歓迎されたくらいだ。

在米華人のスーパーにおけるマナーの悪さが問題になっている。商品を選り好みする行為が多発しており、華人の印象に悪影響を与えている。中国新聞社が伝えた。
たまごのパックをいくつも開封して大きいものだけを自分のパックに移動させたり、新鮮なイチゴばかりを集めてパック詰めし直す行為が多く見られる。さらに信じられないことに、服や靴の値札を他の安いものと付け替える者までいるというのだ。

ただし、値札の付け替えは法に触れる。もし値札を付け替えて商品を購入してしまえば、立派な窃盗罪となり、罰金が科される。

１０日深夜放送のフジテレビ系「ヨルタモリ」のゲストは、ＳＭＡＰ草なぎ剛（４０）。タモリ扮（ふん）するジャズ喫茶のマスター、“吉原さん”は、草なぎを「ジャズな人」と評する。いわく、ジャズな人とは、「向上心がない人」だそう。タモリは「向上心がある人は、今日が明日のためにある人。向上心がない人は、今日が今日のためにある人。向上心イコール邪念ってことだよね」と説明。「夢があるようじゃ人間終わりだね」とキッパリ語る。
草なぎが「夢ってなんなのとは思う。夢に向かって頑張ってるなら、夢がかなっちゃったらどうするのって話」とタモリの向上心否定論に相づちを打つと、タモリは「（夢に向かって頑張る人にとって）夢が達成されるまでの期間は、まったく意味のないつまらない世界になる。それが向上心のある人の、悲劇的な生き方なの」と指摘する。一方、実際に“夢”をかなえた人は、ただ好きなことを楽しく続けていただけだとして、「それがジャズかジャズでないかの差」と相変わらずの独特な視点を示した。
