池上彰氏が売れている理由は、解説の能力が高いからだ。何年か前に「沖縄になぜ米軍基地があるのか」を解説するという収録があった。私はこう言った。「普天間にしろ、嘉手納にしろ、海兵隊の基地です。海兵隊は先遣部隊なので、そもそも日本を守る機能がありません。彼らが沖縄にいるのは、日本がアメリカに逆らった時に、真っ先に日本を占領するためです」。私の収録はボツになり、代わりに呼ばれた池上彰氏は、どこからも文句のこない、実にバランスのとれた解説をしたのだった。

各国の海兵隊

世界の海兵隊の中で唯一、独立した軍となっており、現在のアメリカ５軍では陸軍、海軍、空軍に次ぐ4番目の規模である。但し、管轄は海軍長官の下となっている。

第二次世界大戦の上陸作戦でも活躍しており、海兵隊の主任務は水陸両用作戦であるが、ベトナム戦争においても活躍した。徴兵制が実施されていたベトナム戦争当時でも、アメリカ海兵隊に関しては全員志願兵だった。
陸海空軍と同じく、海兵隊も出撃自体には議会の承認を必要としないが、戦争権限法によれば、事後４８時間以内に下院議長と上院臨時議長へ書面で報告するとともに、議会による宣戦布告か承認がなされない場合、議会への報告後６０日以内の戦闘のみ認められ、さらに３０日以内の撤兵が義務づけられている

米軍における海兵隊の位置づけや課せられた役割、極東米軍の布陣等々を知らないので、
『海兵隊は先遣部隊なので、そもそも日本を守る機能がありません』
が、どこまで当を得た見解か分からない。

「昨年、鶴橋の在特会デモに参加した女子中学生が『鶴橋に住む在日クソチョンコの皆さん、いつまでも調子に乗っとったら、南京じゃなくて鶴橋大虐殺を実行しますよ！』と叫んだのには開いた口がふさがりませんでした」

「戦後から住み着いた在日韓国人とは仲良く暮らしていました。彼らは日本に溶け込もうとしていたし、国籍に関係なく仲間意識を持てた。でも、１０年ほど前に入ってきたニューカマーに『郷に入っては郷に従え』は通用しない。商店街にある街灯の電気代の負担をお願いしたら、『うちの店の前には街灯がないじゃないか』と逆切れする。付き合いもないし、正直やりづらい」（商店街組合関係者）
新大久保に３０年住む主婦も話す。
「狭い歩道に陳列棚を置いたり大音量で音楽を流したりして迷惑を被っています。でもトラブルが恐くて注意はできません。近所に建った一軒家には複数の韓国人が出入りしてまるで民宿状態です。誰が住んでいるか把握もできないから不安です」
そう話す地元住民もヘイトスピーチには冷ややかだ。
「苦々しい思いでデモを眺めていたら、その中の１人に『なんや、お前、朝鮮人か！』と因縁をつけられて嫌な思いをした」（６０代男性）

在日組長を顧問に戴く街宣エセ右翼と何ら変わらぬ暴慢無礼。ヘイトスピーチは利敵行為・反日行為そのものである。
うわべの言葉に惑わされてはいけない。
その人間性・品位がどうしようもなくダメなのだ。
呉善花氏「移民が日本文化を理解し社会に溶け込むのは難しい」

いわゆる「わびさび」といった感覚も外国人にはなかなか理解しづらい。日本人が古びた陶器などに趣を感じる一方、韓国では食器は金ピカのものを好む。些細な違いと思ってはいけない。生活習慣の差は職場や地域におけるコミュニケーションの大きな障害となる。
私自身の経験としては、「ありがとう」と御礼を言う習慣を身につけるのに苦労した。韓国では親しい間柄の相手には、水臭いという感覚で「ありがとう」と言わないことがほとんどだ。日本人はそうした分け隔てをしない。
日本に住み始めた頃は「ありがとう」と言わなかったため親しい知人に注意され、それでも習慣づけるには随分と時間が掛かった。移民の労働力が期待される介護分野などは特に、専門知識やスキルだけでなく円滑な意思疎通が求められる。それができなければ介護される側にストレスが溜まってしまう。
閉鎖的な国を目指せということではなく、移民を受け入れるのであれば日本文化や慣習について学ぶ機会を設けるべきであり、丁寧なフォロー体制が必要だ。そうした意欲を持つ移民希望者もいるはずだが、「年間２０万人」という数値目標を立てるやり方とは両立しない。
