スーパーに行くと、節分の豆とバレンタインのチョコが山積みされている。
この際、貰えるんなら”義理豆”でも大歓迎（笑）
２月３日は節分。柊（ヒイラギ）にイワシの頭を刺したものを飾り、豆をまくという行事が行われていることはよく知られていますが、そもそもどんないわれがあるものなのでしょうか？ 日本のしきたりに詳しい、民俗学者の神崎宣武さんに聞いてみました。
「節分というのは、実は年に一度のものではありません。立春、立夏、立秋、立冬の前日を指すので、年に４回あるわけです。えてして、こういった季節の変わり目は、体調をくずすことが多いもの。その昔、病気は目に見えない邪気、悪霊によるものと考えられていましたから、節分の日にそれらを払うことが意識されるのは当然の成り行きといえます。ただ、毎回行事を行うのも大変なので、旧暦の正月に近いのと、仏教の節分会も重なることから、春の節分が重視されてきたんです」
