事故が起きたのはメトロノース鉄道ハドソン線のスパイトンダイビル駅付近。脱線車両は川のそばの緩いカーブでレールから外れ、一部は横転した。

結着剤（けっちゃくざい）は、食品の保水性を高め、形状を保ったり食感を良くするために加えられる材料。本項では、食品添加物としての結着剤と、一般につなぎと呼ばれる材料について述べる。
食品添加物
主な結着剤として、ピロリン酸ナトリウム、ポリリン酸ナトリウム、メタリン酸ナトリウムなどのリン酸塩や、カゼインナトリウムなどが用いられる。保水作用、金属イオン封鎖作用、水に不溶・難溶な物質を安定な懸濁液として分散させる作用、難溶性物質の結晶析出防止作用により、「アシ」と呼ばれる特有の弾力を保つ効果を持つ。

大阪市の橋下徹市長（日本維新の会共同代表）は２８日、大阪市を廃止して複数の特別区に再編する大阪都構想の名称について、「大阪都」以外に「大阪州」も検討する考えを明らかにした。定例記者会見で記者の質問に答えた。
都構想は大阪市の廃止と同時に、広域行政を大阪府に集め、名前を「大阪都」に変更する計画だ。橋下氏は「名称は重要」と述べ、「都」にこだわっていた。
しかし、名称変更には法改正か新法が必要。橋下氏は「法改正は維新だけで出しても通らない。道州制を目指すことになれば自公政権も乗りやすいかもしれない」と述べ、「大阪都を軸に、いろんな名称を維新の中で議論している」と明かした。
「都」の名称には、維新の石原慎太郎共同代表も、東京都知事時代から「元首がいて国会があるところが都だ」と反対している。

３０日午後、北海道美唄市カーウシュナイの民家で、玄関に砲弾（直径約１０センチ、長さ約１８センチ）が置いてあるのを、消火栓の点検で地域を回っていた消防隊員が発見し、美唄署に通報した。
同署から連絡を受けた陸上自衛隊員が午後９時２０分頃、砲弾と確認して回収した。戊辰戦争（１８６８～６９年）に使われた「４斤砲弾」とみられ、砲弾に信管はなく、爆発の危険は無かった。
発表によると、この家に住む無職女性（８４）が昨年８月頃、自宅納屋で砲弾を見つけたが、何かわからないまま、玄関に置いていた。自宅を訪れた消防隊員に確認を依頼し、砲弾とわかった。

This initial track from the first Brunswick session by the Ozzie Nelson band features a rather tentative-sounding Nelson vocal, perhaps partially inspired by the similarly low-key style that currently had Rudy Vallee all the rage. Guy Lombardo, Ted Weems, Johnny Marvin and Lee Morse were among those who released competing versions of this popular 1930 ballad.

テレビ朝日（東京都港区）は２０日、バラエティー番組「銭形金太郎」などのプロデューサーを務めた編成制作局の男性社員（４５）が、１０年近くにわたり、番組制作費約１億４１００万円を私的に流用していたと発表した。
１９日付で懲戒解雇処分にしたという。
同社は男性社員の名前は公表せず、刑事告訴については「本人は返済を始めており、今後の推移を見極めたい」と明確にしなかった。
同社によると、男性社員は、番組ディレクターやプロデューサーだった２００３年１１月～今年３月、外部の制作協力会社３社に、架空の業務を発注して代金を請求させ、制作費として支出された約１億４１００万円を流用。高額な服飾品を購入したり、旅行に使ったりしていた。

番組制作会社などに水増し請求して一部を戻させる「キックバック」は、テレ朝プロデューサーの１億４０００万円着服問題で再び明るみに出た。ところが、こうしたキックバックは、ほかにもまだあるというのだ。
TOKYO MXテレビの情報番組「５時に夢中！」は、出演するタレントらが業界内の際どい話を暴露して、度々話題になっている。
「美保さんもギャラから戻してあげて下さい」
２０１３年１１月２７日の放送では、東京スポーツのこの日の記事「テレビ界キックバックの仰天実態」を取り上げて、業界の裏事情を話し合った。
東スポの記事では、テレビ局の給料が下がっており、それをカバーするためにも、キックバックが業界にはびこっていると指摘した。銀行振り込みではなく現金手渡しが鉄則だといい、こうした「裏金」の存在は今後も表沙汰になるのではないかと報じている。
「５時に夢中！」に出演した女優の美保純さん（５３）は、司会のふかわりょうさんにキックバックを聞いたことがあるかと聞かれ、自身がその体験をしたことを明かした。純さんは、プロデューサーから直接ではなく、その部下から次のように言われたというのだ。
「役者陣は、みんなそうしていますよ。だから、美保さんもぜひお祝いとして、あのギャラから戻してあげて下さい」
若いプロデューサーが初めて手がけた番組なので、のしを付けるように渡すことを求められたそうだ。純さんは、積み上がって１億円以上になるようなケースではないとしながらも、ドラマ制作費などが削られ、ギャラの取り分も減っているとして、「こういう懐ものを止めてほしい」と訴えた。
一方、純さんとともに出演したタレントの川合俊一さん（５０）は、今度は番組制作会社について取り上げ、その中には、「大きくキックバックしている」ところもたまに見られると明かした。ただ、昔はそれでテレビ局のプロデューサーらがよく豪遊していたが、最近はそういうことは減ったともした。

皇室に伝わる古文書など約３９万点を所蔵する宮内庁書陵部の図書寮文庫が歌舞伎「忠臣蔵」で知られる赤穂浪士の吉良邸討ち入りに関する資料６点を１２月２日から同庁ホームページ（ＨＰ）に初めて掲載する。討ち入りは江戸城内で吉良上野介に切りかかり切腹となった赤穂藩主浅野内匠頭の敵討ちのため、大石内蔵助や堀部安兵衛ら赤穂浪士４７人が翌年元禄１５年１２月１４日（１７０３年１月３０日）、現在の東京都墨田区にあった吉良邸を襲撃した。

昨年デビューした“新世代歌謡グループ”こと男性３人組の「はやぶさ」が３０日、都内で１stミニアルバム「歌謡カヴァーソングス」の発売イベントを行った。
昭和を代表する歌謡曲６曲をカバー。この日は、ショッピングモール内に再現された昭和３０年代の下町空間に、違和感のない衣装で登場した。ファン１００人が見守る中、「よせばいいのに」「愛して愛して愛しちゃったのよ」など４曲を熱唱。
終盤、収録曲「小樽のひとよ」の作曲家で原曲の歌手である鶴岡雅義（８０）がゲスト出演。３人の歌唱に「何も言うことない」と太鼓判を押した。
メインボーカルのヒカル（２６）は「レコーディングの後も、この日まですごく練習しました」としみじみ。亡き祖父に歌を教えてもらったヤマト（２０）は、「テレビで（鶴岡雅義と）東京ロマンチカさんを見ながら、祖父が『こういう歌が歌えるようにならないと』と言っていたのを思い出して」と本人を前に、感激の涙を流した。
