４人組ロックバンド・［Champagne］（シャンペイン）が２８日、初の東京・日本武道館公演を行い、同日よりバンド名を［Alexandros］（アレキサンドロス）に改名すると発表した。
同バンドは、フランス・シャンパーニュ地方ワイン生産同業委員会（C.I.V.C.）の日本支局から、「Champagne」という名称が同地方の原産地名称として日本国内においても保護されているとの指摘を受け、バンド名を変更するよう要請されていた。
バンドは昨年来、名称の継続使用をめぐって交渉をしてきたが、メンバー・スタッフが協議を重ね、今月２５日に改名を決断。

公式サイトでは「双方の立場を考えた上での決断であり、法的なプロセスがあった訳ではありません」と説明。「改名にあたり音楽活動そのものには何ら影響はない」としている。
