２２年前に買った上海古籍出版社発行『古诗台历（古詩台暦）』の大晦日のページに載ってた漢詩はがコレでした。
もちろん太陽暦ではないから、正確には今夜の情景ではないけれども、気分はまぁそういうことです。

南太平洋の島嶼国サモアは２９日から３１日にかけて、自国の標準時を日付変更線の東側から西側の時間帯へと移した。これに伴い、２９日から日付が変わる時点（日本時間３０日午後７時）で、３０日を丸一日飛ばして、大みそか（３１日）を迎えた。
サモアは、世界で最も遅い時間帯から最も早い時間帯に移ったことになる。現在、サマータイムを採用しており、１９時間遅れだった日本との時差は逆に、５時間早くなった。
サモアは、米国が最大の貿易相手国だった１８９２年、米国との時差を考慮し、日付変更線の東側の時間帯を採用したが、近年はオーストラリアやニュージーランド、中国などアジア諸国との貿易量が拡大。これらとは２０時間前後の時差があるため、商取引の可能日数が週４日と短いことが弊害になっていた。
ニュージーランド領トケラウ諸島もサモアと一緒に、時間帯を移した。

面白いねぇ、こういう話。
どこを日付変更線にしてもいいようなもんだけど、一国内で昨日と今日、今日と明日が同居しちゃマズイってことなんでしょう。
日付変更線のあるあたりはポリネシア（Polynesia。ギリシャ語で「多くの島々」）といってとにかく島が多く、線も真っ直ぐではないので同じ経度でも日付が違ってたりする。つまり南北に移動して昨日と今日を行ったり来たりで来てしまうというおかしな話で。

パキスタン南西部バルチスタン州クエッタにあるメンガル元石油相の自宅のそばで３０日、自動車に仕掛けられた爆弾が爆発しました。
ロイター通信によりますと、この爆発で少なくとも９人が死亡、３０人が負傷しました。メンガル元石油相にけがはありませんでした。
犯行声明は出ていませんが、バルチスタン州ではイスラム系武装勢力や州の独立を目指す過激派による襲撃事件が多発しています。
