【個人タクシーの日】（１２月３日）１９５９（昭和３４）年のこの日、初めて個人タクシーの営業許可が下りた。タクシー不足と神風タクシー解消のため、東京都で４０～５０歳の3年間無事故無違反の優良運転手１７３人に個人タクシーの免許が許可された。

米海洋大気局（ＮＯＡＡ）は３日までに、北極の海氷の減少に伴って暖かくなるなど、同地域の気候が２００６年以降に激変しているとする報告書をまとめた。低緯度地域に大雪をもたらすなど大きな影響を及ぼす恐れもあり、「地球温暖化を踏まえると、北極の変化はしばらく続き、生態系や社会に打撃をもたらすだろう」と警告している。
報告書によると、今年の現在までの北極域の平均気温は最近３０年間の平均と比べて１・５度高く、夏の海氷面積は観測史上２番目の小ささを記録した。
ほかの地域と比べ気温が大きく上昇しており、地面や海域が露出したことで、太陽熱が吸収されやすくなっているのが原因と考えられるという。

初乗り５００円の「ワンコインタクシー」などの格安タクシーが２０１４年４月以降、なくなる。
タクシー運賃の引き上げや減車を事実上義務付ける、特定地域におけるタクシーの適正化・活性化に関する改正特別措置法（タクシー「サービス向上」「安全利用」推進法）が１月２７日に施行されたためだ。タクシー会社は、国が定めた範囲内で運賃を決めなければならないなど、規制が強化された。

懐かしのNYイエローキャブ
判事のマイク・ライレーさん（コネティカット州在住）は、大学で整備士として働いている時にチェッカー社のイエローキャブに引きつけられた。２０年前に購入した１台は、１０万ドル以上をかけて修復したという。５月に結婚した娘はマイクさんのイエローキャブを運転し、花嫁付添人６人を自分の結婚式会場に連れて行った。

都内の大手タクシー会社が５日、国土交通省に初乗り運賃を４１０円に引き下げる変更申請を提出した。「ちょっとそこまで」といった短い移動にもタクシーを使ってもらうのが狙いで、高齢者や若者からは歓迎する声が目立った。一方、タクシー運転手からは「ワンメーターの客がいくら増えても、収入は増えない」と戸惑いの声も聞かれた。
タクシー大手の日本交通（千代田区）が５日に国土交通省に申請した新しい料金体系は、初乗り運賃を現在の「２キロ・メートルで７３０円」から「１・０５９キロ・メートルで４１０円」に改め、その後は２３７メートルごとに８０円ずつ加算される（現在は２８０メートルごとに９０円ずつ加算）内容。例えば、新宿駅西口から都庁まで直線距離で約７００メートル。新料金体系が実現すれば、４１０円で行けそうだ。対象は２３区と武蔵野市、三鷹市となっている。

２６日夜、北海道札幌市で、停車中のタクシーに全裸の男が乗り込み車内の設備を破壊する事件があった。
タクシーに設置されたドライブレコーダーの映像には、全裸の男が突然、乗り込んできた様子が捉えられていた。男は、運転手に対して大声でわめきはじめる。
全裸の男「お前なめてんのか！」
男はその後もタクシーの防護板を激しくたたいて壊し、駆けつけた警察に器物損壊の疑いで逮捕された。
逮捕されたのは、自称・アルバイト従業員の２４歳の男。男は２６日午後８時半ごろ、札幌市中央区大通西７丁目で停車中のタクシーに乗り込み、タクシー内の設備を壊した疑い。警察の調べに対して、男は「酔っていて覚えていない」と話していて、警察で事情を詳しく聞いている。

東京２３区などを営業地域とするタクシーの初乗り運賃が３０日から引き下げられ、ほとんどのタクシー会社が初乗り運賃をおよそ１キロまで４１０円に変更して営業しています。
初乗り運賃の引き下げは東京２３区と三鷹市、武蔵野市を営業地域とするタクシーで３０日から始まりました。国土交通省などによりますと、この地域で営業するほとんどのタクシー会社や個人タクシーが、初乗り運賃をこれまでの２キロまで７３０円を、１．０５２キロまで４１０円に変更しました。
ＪＲ新橋駅のタクシー乗り場では、ほぼすべてのタクシーが新しい運賃に変わり、タクシー会社の担当者が運賃の変更を知らせるチラシを利用者に渡していました。

午前３時頃、２人はタクシーを呼んで家に帰ろうとしたのだが、タクシー代６・８ポンド（約１０２０円）のうち６０ペンス（約９０円）が足りないことに気付いた。しかし２人は「たかがそんな小銭」という気持ちから「足りないけどごめんね」と言ってタクシーを降りようとしたところ、運転手から「待った！」の声がかかった。
あくまでも仕事でありそれで生計を立てているであろうタクシー運転手にとって、客からの支払い不足は深刻である。たとえ６０ペンスという金額であったとしても、支払ってもらう義務があると思った運転手は「親が起きているなら家に戻って親に払ってもらって」と女性らに伝えた。すると彼女たちから「ありったけ持って来たから家にお金はない」と返ってきたため、運転手は「それならば警察署まで連れて行くから警察で説明しろ」と２人を乗せたまま地元の警察署まで車を走らせた。奇妙なことになったと気付いた女性２人のうち１人が、動画でこの様子を収め「タクシー代が６０ペンス不足だからって、私たち警察に連れて行かれたの」とツイッターに投稿した。＜【海外発！Breaking News】「足りない９０円を払え」激怒のタクシー運転手、女性客を乗せたまま警察署へ（英）｜Infoseekニュース より一部引用＞

白タク行為をしたとして、警視庁交通捜査課は５日、道路運送法違反の疑いで、韓国籍の個人投資家、●●●容疑者（４９）＝東京都港区赤坂＝を逮捕したと発表した。逮捕は４日。
同課によると、客は赤坂や歌舞伎町の飲食店で働く韓国人らが中心で、赤坂－歌舞伎町間は１千円、歌舞伎町－羽田空港間は７千円の料金で営業。３～４年前から月約３０万円を売り上げていた。
●容疑者は「家族と米国に移住するためにお金が必要だった」と容疑を認めている。以前同居していた韓国人の男から客を引き継ぎ、携帯電話で予約を受けて都内のタクシー料金よりも安い価格で乗せていた。交通捜査課が１１月に同法違反容疑で逮捕した△△△容疑者（３７）に白タク行為を指南していた。
逮捕容疑は、△容疑者と共謀し、４月８日に港区赤坂３丁目から新宿区若葉３丁目まで、有償で客を運んだとしている。

今日はタクシー🚕の日ということで中野忠晴の『愉快な円タク』(1939年)。
