Though this classic doo-wop ballad has long been thought of primarily as a vehicle for various group-harmony vocal treatments （Cadillacs, Passions, Manhattan Transfer, etc.）, its first recorded appearance was as this little-known traditonal ‘pop’ arrangement. “Gloria” would realize its first mainstream success in late 1948 with a recording by The Mills Brothers
