同月22日午前0時過ぎ、ネットの掲示板「2ちゃんねる」に突如、こんな一文が書き込まれた。記したのは匿名の人物で、自分の友人の予知夢を伝える内容。予言では《同じ家でテレビを見ている夢をみました。内容は「1月25日に起きた東海大地震の影響で未だに大規模な停電が起きています…」》と大地震後にも触れている。
これをきっかけに「実は私も…」「こんな予兆もある」などと同調者が続出し、「1月25日地震リスクマップ 日本版」を作成して掲載するユーザーも。UFO政治学が専門の米科学者、リチャード・ボイランなる人物が「25日の午後12時、M9・8以上の人類史上最大のメガ地震が、東京の東97キロメートルを震源として起こる」と予言したとかしないとか。
話題はツイッターにも飛び火し、《25~26日にかけての夜中の11時以降か2~3時あたりにおきる》とも…。
