野田佳彦首相が年内の取りまとめを指示した「社会保障と税の一体改革」素案のうち、社会保障分野の骨子案が判明した。被用者年金一元化では「公務員の特権」に切り込むことが期待されていたが、何と、公務員の優遇措置の存続に道を開く文言が盛り込まれていたのだ。まさか野田内閣は、財務官僚と公務員労組の利権維持のために存在しているのか。

Googleは１２月１３日、東日本大震災で被災した地域のストリートビューを公開した。被災地の記録を残す「デジタルアーカイブプロジェクト」の一環で、一般公開することで「地震や津波が引き起こす被害を知ってもらうきっかけになる」としている。
Googleマップから閲覧できる。今年の夏ごろから約半年かけて、東北地方の沿岸地域や主要都市周辺のべ約４万４０００キロを走行して撮影したデータを公開した。被害が大きかった宮城県南三陸町などの様子を見ることができる。

宮城県石巻市 県道240号線の画像に、巨大な「鯨の大和煮」の缶詰がありました（撮影時期2011年8月）。よく見るとサイロかタンクだったらしく、看板としても使われていたようです。
岩手県陸前高田市の景勝地、高田松原で津波に流されずに唯一残った「奇跡の一本松」について、観察を続けている財団法人「日本緑化センター」（東京都）は１２日午前、松の根が腐り生育が困難になったとの報告書を市に提出。陸前高田市の復興の象徴ともいえる存在なだけに、市は難しい判断を迫られそうだ。
この日、センターの担当者が市役所を訪れ、戸羽太市長と面会。震災後の保護活動の経緯や、１０月上旬に一本松を調査した結果を説明し、根が塩分を含んだ水に漬かって腐り、今後の生育が困難との判断を伝えた。人間に例えると自発呼吸ができない状態で、枝や葉が落ちて、最終的に倒れる可能性もある。

この中にはまことにご人徳の篤い高潔な方もおられたでしょうし、日頃から悪事をはたらいていた人もいたでしょう。
そうしたこととは全く関係なく、ただあの地域にあの時間にいたというだけで、それだけの方々が亡くなられてしまった。
日ごろ宗教家や占い師は前世も含めて因果応報というのだけれど、今回の大災害について亡くなられたが方々がなぜそうなったのか筋道立てて説明できている人はいません。
よしんば為政者が何かをした、あるいはしなかったのが地震の原因（！）だとしても、あの地域のあの人たちでなくていいわけです。
いや、それどころか宗教家や占い師たち、その熱心な信者たちも一瞬にして落命した。神も佛もあるものかとはこのことでしょう。
もうすぐまたお正月がやってきますが、今度の正月も 初詣帰りに事故死する人がいるんでしょうかね。
古い北欧神話に、その世界観・宇宙観を表わしている「世界樹（ユグドラシル）」というものが出てきます。この木も根元にある泉が無くなると枯れるそうです。

耐震データ偽造事件で、強度不足のマンションを引き渡して代金をだまし取ったとして詐欺罪に問われた販売会社「ヒューザー」（破産）元社長、小嶋進被告（５８）に対し、最高裁第３小法廷（田原睦夫裁判長）は１２日付で被告の上告を棄却する決定を出した。懲役３年、執行猶予５年の１、２審判決が確定する。

１１日午前２時１５分頃、東京都江東区大島の都立大島小松川公園で、ホームレスの６０歳代の男性が「少年５人に暴行を受けた」と近くの交番に届け出た。
男性は腹などを殴られており、あばら骨３本を折る重傷。５人は小学校高学年から中学生位だったといい、警視庁城東署は傷害事件として捜査している。
同署幹部によると、男性は同公園のトイレの個室で寝ていたところ、戸の上から少年たちに水をかけられた。トイレから出ると、腹を殴られ、自転車で引きずり回されるなどの暴行を受けたという。

こういうことをする子どもは昔は家庭に問題がある場合が多かった。困窮していたり家庭内暴力があったりなど、それらしい感じだったが、バブル前後から逆に裕福な家の子の犯行が増えたようだ。
そしてまた江東区には不法入国者の末裔や不法滞在者が多くいること、今回の乱暴狼藉が終戦直後の「第三国人」のそれとそっくりなことから、そっち方面の事件ということも甚だ残念ではあるが大いに考えられる。

陸前高田市の高田松原に唯一残る松の木は、「奇跡の一本松」とも呼ばれ、現在も多くの人がその姿を見に訪れています。しかし松の根は海水によって既に腐ってしまった状態で、調査した日本緑化センターが「倒木の可能性もある」と陸前高田市に伝えていました。これを受け市は木が腐らないように処理を施し、松の木をモニュメントとして保存することを決めました。

東日本大震災の津波で宮城県石巻市の水産加工場から流され、約３００メートル離れた県道の中央分離帯で横転したままとなっていた巨大なタンクの解体工事が３０日、行われた。解体は住民の要望を受けたもので、廃材は机や椅子に加工する予定という。
鉄製のタンクは、同市の「木の屋石巻水産」が所有。高さ約１１メートルで、加工の過程で出る魚の油をためるために使われていた。創業時からの看板商品の鯨大和煮缶が描かれている。

巨大津波に耐えた岩手県陸前高田市の「奇跡の一本松」が、１億５０００万円をかけて保存工事が行われることになり、ネット上で論議になっている。
７万本もあった名勝「高田松原」は震災直後、一瞬のうちに壊滅状態になってしまった。その中で、唯一立ち残ったのが「奇跡の一本松」だ。「石碑やレリーフなどで代用できる」
その姿は、市民に勇気を与え、復興のシンボルともされた。ところが、地震による地盤沈下で、海水が土壌にしみ込んで塩分が多すぎる状態となり、一本松は徐々に衰弱が進んで枯死と診断された。
これに対し、陸前高田市は、一本松の保存に乗り出すことを決め、２０１２年９月１２日から工事に着手することになった。作業では、高さが２７メートルもある一本松を根元から切り倒し、幹を５分割して、その芯をくり抜く。そして、防腐処理をしたうえで、金属製の心棒を幹に通してモニュメントにする。震災２周年の節目になる１３年３月１１日には、元の場所でお披露目したい考えだ。
１億５０００万円もの費用については、税金は使わず、募金で賄いたいとする。それは、被災地の課題が山積しており、保存に多額の予算は投じられないとの判断からという。市は、１２年７月５日に「奇跡の一本松保存募金」のサイトを立ち上げ、フェイスブックからも募金の受け付けを始めた。
とはいえ、ネット上では、被災者が未だに避難生活を続けている中で、一本松の保存に多額のお金を投じることに疑問の声が多い。

松の中でも茎が赤い松（赤松）を英名では「Japanese red pine」と呼ぶ。この赤松は日本だけでなく中国や韓国にも存在する松だが、日本の松が西洋人に知られ「Japanese red pine」と名付けられた。
その英名に対して今韓国が新たな英名をまとめ配布している。その中のリストに「Japanese red pine」を「Korean red pine」と修正されており、また、「Japanese maple」とされてきた楓（かえで）は手の平に似ていることから「Palmate maple」に変更。そのほかにも「Japanese flowering cherry」を「Oriental flowering cherry」に修正、Japanese rose」を「Multiflora rose」に修正されている。またJapaneseと名の付く物だけでなくChineseと付いているものも数多く変更されている。
このリストを作ったのは国立樹木園の関係者で韓国に自生する植物4173種類の英名を見直し修正。リスト一覧はサイトよりPDFでダウンロード可能。そのリストの冒頭には「松が韓半島中心の木であることを知らせなければなりません」と書かれている。

韓国・釜山にある公文書館に植えられていた日本原産の木が、植民地時代における「われわれの魂への抑圧」の象徴だとして、敷地内から撤去されたことが明らかになった。地元当局が８日、発表した。
先週、国家記録院の施設である釜山記録館から抜き去られたのは、常緑針葉樹のカイヅカイブキ１２本で、移植のため海軍施設に運ばれた。海風から敷地内を守る防風樹として利用されるという。
釜山記録館の報道官は、韓国の歴史家らによれば、当時の日本政府によりカイヅカイブキが各地で植樹され、帝国の隆盛を表すものとみなされていたと説明。「われわれの魂を抑圧するため、日本人の植民地支配者らによって国内各地に植えられた木々を放置することは不適切であり、移し替えることに決めた」と述べた。
ただ、釜山記録館のカイヅカイブキは、１９８０年代に植えられたものだという。同施設には王室関係の古文書を含む、韓国の国家的遺産が数多く収蔵されている。
