ＪＲ東日本は２４日、約５年間に及ぶ復元工事をほぼ終え、１０月１日のグランドオープンまで１週間に迫った東京駅丸の内側の赤れんが駅舎を報道公開した。
公開対象は、開業した１９１４（大正３）年当時の南北ドームがよみがえった駅舎や、中央部にある駅長室、北ドームの外国人客向けのサービスカウンター、１０月３日開業予定の東京ステーションホテルのロイヤルスイートルーム（１泊８０万８５００円）など。
このうち、サービスカウンターは一部に赤れんがの壁を残した。旅程の相談や切符の手配などに英語や中国語、韓国語で対応し、鉄道の起点として利便性を向上させる。
梅原康義駅長は公開後「駅舎は、日本が最も元気だった約１００年前の姿に戻った。これからの１００年がもっと元気になるよう期待したい」と話した。

路上で女子高生の尻や胸を触るなどしたとして、警視庁成城署が東京都迷惑防止条例違反容疑で、青山学院中等部教諭の男（３３）＝世田谷区喜多見＝を逮捕していたことが２５日、同署への取材で分かった。男は容疑を認め、送検後に釈放された。
逮捕容疑は、７月７日未明、自宅近くの路上で、帰宅途中の女子高生（１７）に後ろから抱きついて尻を触った上、立ち止まった女子高生の胸元に１万円札を差し入れ、胸を触るなどしたとしている。
同署によると、男は酒を飲んだ帰りで、女子高生に「話をしよう」と声をかけながらつきまとったという。男は「派手な服装の女性がいたので、ナンパしようと思った。最後はカネだと思って、１万円札を入れた」と供述している。
