Out of Los Angeles, the third of six known singles issued by Joey Cooper over six different labels between 1961-1971. Recorded at Hollywood’s Gold Star Studios in August 1964, this release has Joey sharing the microphone with busy session vocalist, Jackie Ward. （Having sang background vocals on countless sessions as well as being a member of the Los Angeles based Anita Kerr Singers, the Ron Hicklin Singers and the Ray Conniff Singers, Jackie is most remember by her Perry Botkin, Jr. produced recordings for Dot Records credited as Robin Ward）. Gene Page provided the arrangement played by L.A’s’Wrecking Crew’ and interestingly, Gold Star Studios engineer Larry Levine was also the producer of the session.The Hal David & Sherman Edwards composition of’Outside My Window’ was first recorded by the Fleetwoods in 1960 and 56 years later in 2016, a slick version of the tune was recorded by Damien Jurado. Joey Cooper’s version as well as the other two versions, surprisingly all seem to stay faithful to a similarly styled arrangement.

The powerful, soaring tenor voice of Roy Orbison is unmistakable and very few pop vocalists can compare to his unique vocal ability. His emotive hit ballads,’Crying’,’It’s Over’,’Running Scared’,’Love Hurts’ and’In Dreams’ are stellar examples to that fact but what many may not know is that quite a few of Roy’s hidden LP tracks can be quite surprising. Case in point is the Fred Tobias and Lee Pockriss tune,’House Without Windows’. While versions of the song were recorded between 1962 and 1965 by Steve Lawrence, Cliff Richard, Ray Peterson and Gene Pitney, it was Roy Orbison who made the first known recording. On November 8, 1961 at RCA VICTOR -‘Studio B’ in Nashville, two songs were recorded under the production of Bob Moore and Fred Foster with arrangements by Anita Kerr.’House Without Windows’ and an original Roy Orbison and Joe Melson tune entitled,’（They Call You） Gigolette’. The latter recording would remain unissued and a week later, a second version was recorded at another session. Both recordings would remain in the can for 20 months until they appeared on Roy’s’In Dreams’ LP in July 1963 and also on a 7″ promotional EP disc. Roy’s vocal performance on’House Without Windows’ is beyond stunning. The backing track played by the Nashville A-Team couldn’t have been more on point and Anita Kerr’s uncredited arrangement and backing vocals by her group add to the musical drama. The song is a typical Orbison musical ride that ebbs and flows with beautiful weeping strings that builds and explodes at a cataclysmic finish. How in the world this track never made it to a 45 single release is an absolute head scratcher. Upon listening to all of the available versions, Roy’s take on the song gets the prize without question.

The flipside of the Mariners 1950 hit “Sometime” （also posted to this channel） was a 1926 waltz tune, briefly revived thru several recordings made in 1949 and 1950, including this one, the Andrews Sisters, Ames Brothers, and Johnny Desmond. The quartet’s most successful single during its years on the Godfrey shows was “I See The Moon,” which you’ll find in the 1953 HITS ARCHIVE.

Russ Carlson was pianist with the Crown house band and was given leader credit on a number of the label’s releases, including some of the “High Steppers” tracks （though most or all may possibly have been conducted by Crown Music Director Adrian Schubert）. In 1939 vocalist Artie Dunn would join brothers Al and Morty Nevins in the creation of The Three Suns. The flip side of this 78 is “Little Girl” by The High Steppers.

　同署によると、徳永容疑者は、フジテレビのバラエティー番組「笑っていいとも」で、スタジオ観覧者１００人に出演者がアンケートし、該当者が１人ならば商品が当たるコーナーに憤慨。「制作者のヤラセは許せないので、コーナーをやめさせようと思った」と容疑を認めている。

１８７０年にスタンダード・オイルを創業したロックフェラーは、積極的な経営を行い、その後１８９７年に事実上引退した。スタンダード・オイルはオハイオ州で、ジョンと弟ウィリアム・ロックフェラー、ヘンリー・フラグラー、ヤベツ・Ａ・ボストウィック、化学者サミュエル・アンドリュース、スティーヴン・Ｖ・ハークネスによって創設された。
