Formerly a perfomer with brother Johnny Burnette in The Rock’n Roll Trio, composer of a couple of Ricky Nelson best-sellers, and singer of his own hit “Tall Oak Tree,” Dorsey recorded （unsuccessfully） for a number of different labels during the’60s, including the short-lived Motown subsidiary Mel-O-Dy. The Jimmy Webb song “Honey Come Back” was one of his Mel-O-Dy tracks that was shelved at the time and not issued until decades later, though the song did emerge in early 1970 as a top-20 hit for Glen Campbell

Recorded in London in early 1965, this is the only known solo release by then 26-year-old Caroline Gardner credited as’Pinky’.’All Cried Out’ b/w’Back Where You Belong’ issued on Polydor in both the United Kingdom and in Japan, is a quality coupling of top-notch girly pop. No producer credit was given on the label, but the session was arranged brilliantly by Johnnie Spence.’All Cried Out’ had been previously recorded in the USA by Darlene Paul for Capitol in June 1964, and in September of that year, Dusty Springfield issued it as a single in the USA while in the UK it was part of a four cut EP disc. Lena Martell also recorded a version issued in the UK in September 1964. Pinky threw her version into the ring in March 1965 and finally, a version by Eleanor Toner was released in the UK in April 1965. The flip side of Pinky’s disc which is presented here, was composed by Jimmy Breedlove in 1964, however there are only two known English versions of the song issued; Pinky’s 1965 disc and an obscure release out of Hollywood, California by Phil Gentry in 1967. Two female vocalists recorded quite good French versions in 1966; Lucille -‘Ces Bras Faits Pour Toi’, and Virginie -‘Reviens Vite’. There was a three-year gap before Pinky reappeared on the UK music scene as part of a group that initially had five men but was later reduced to four and named Pinky and The Fellas. Between March 1968 and August 1969, the group put out only two singles but in 1970, a nice LP was issued in Japan.

Recorded at Bradley’s Recording Studios in Nashville, this disc was the fourth of six Columbia singles issued in the United States by then 14 year old Canadian Songstress, Sandy Selsie （her last two singles were credited to’Sandy And The Sophomores’ and in her native Canada, one final Columbia disc was released in 1965 entitled,’That’s The Way It Happens’/’I Wish That I Could Fall In Love Today’）. No expense was wasted in the quality of Miss Selsie’s recordings which featured Nashville’s cream of the crop musicians known as, the’A-Team’ and for this session, the Anita Kerr Singers on background vocals. Produced by Don Law and Frank Jones,’When Jimmy Comes Home’ is an absolute, top notch, slick slice of teen Girl Pop.
