東京電力は３日、福島第１原発で東日本大震災発生直後から行方不明になっていた社員２人の死亡を確認したと発表した。第１原発で死者が確認されたのは初めて。
東電によると、死亡したのは福島第１原発第１運転管理部の小久保和彦さん（２４）と寺島祥希さん（２１）で、４号機の定期点検作業中だった。死亡推定日時は３月１１日午後４時ごろ、同号機タービン建屋地下で同月３０日に遺体が発見された。福島県警は２人の死因を溺死としているが、東電は多発性外傷による出血性ショックとしている。

原発の外の遺体が高放射能で収容できない状態ですから、とうぜんこのお二方もそうとうな放射能を帯びているはずです。
死因が２通り発表されている。どちらも正しいのかもしれませんし、どちらも違っているかもしれません。つまり事実が隠されている可能性がある。

宮城県気仙沼市本吉町末ノ埼の沖合約２キロの海上で１日午後２時ごろ、漂流する屋根の上に犬がいるのを、第３管区海上保安本部（横浜）所属の特殊救難隊が見つけ、保護した。犬は２日午後５時半ごろ、宮城県動物愛護センター（富谷町）に引き渡された。震災の大津波で海に流されたとすると、過酷な環境を３週間、生き延びたことになり生命力に専門家も驚いている。

震災から３週間後の１日に宮城県気仙沼市沖の漂流する屋根の上で発見・救助された犬の飼い主が見つかった。保護していた県動物愛護センターが４日、飼い主に引き渡した。
ニュースで保護されたことを知った気仙沼市内の女性が、以前撮影した犬の写真と特徴を記したメールを、救助した海上保安庁に送って名乗り出た。
