いわゆる裏打ちでないところが重要でして、日本の民謡やユーロビートと同じく、最初の拍でたたいている。
これはこの人の音楽的体質がジャズブルース系でありＲ＆Ｂ～ソウル系ではなかったことを端的に示しているものと考えられます。

以下のYouTube動画は、キャブ・キャロウェイ、カウント・ベイシー、ライオネル・ハンプトン、デルタ・リズム・ボーイズ、ナット・キング・コール、サラ・ボーン、エイモス・ミルバーン、ルース・ブラウンなど１９５５年当時のブラックミュージックのスターたちが出演しているライブ映像です。
一応シアターライブのような形式になってますが、歌や演奏の部分は別撮りだったのかもしれませんね。
お笑いが多く入るところからすると黒人米兵慰問用の映画という気がします。
さすがにビバップのミュージシャンは出てきません。
タップダンサーが「ムーンウォーク」のような動きをするので驚かされます。
最初のジョー・ターナーの動画はこの映像の一部分でした。

This recording was issued as one of eight in Victor’s second of four early-1940s album sets that featured cast members of NBC’s weekly program “The Chamber Music Society of Lower Basin Street.” The tongue-in-cheek presentations of jazz, blues and Dixieland were performed by studio musicians led by Henry Levine and Paul Laval with vocals during the early seasons by Dinah Shore, Lena Horne and Linda Keene.
