共同社説は１年間の内外政策の基本方針を示すもの。正恩氏の「決死擁護」を何度も呼び掛ける一方、政策に目立った変化はなかった。

郵便事業会社の社員らが年賀状を自腹で購入し、金券ショップに売っていると週刊誌などが報じた。会社側は「把握していない」というが、一部労組は認めており、厳しいノルマが原因だとしている。
週刊誌では、プレイボーイの２０１２年１月１６日発売号が「自腹購入」の実態を報じた。
記事によると、ある２０代の契約社員男性は、年賀状の販売ノルマを課せられ、さばき切れずに１０００枚を都内の金券ショップに持ち込んだ。５０円のはがきで、買い取り価格は４３円だったため、７０００円の自腹を切ったことになる。
この男性は、ノルマをこなさないと給料が格段に高い正社員になれないためと、その事情を説明した。自腹購入は、会社のコンプライアンス違反になるため、会社には「親戚に売った」と報告したという。
記事では、郵便事業会社では、正社員に約１万枚、非正規社員には約５０００枚のノルマがあるとした。うち自腹のケースは「自爆営業」と呼ばれ、正社員もこなさないと減給になるため必死に自爆するとの一部労組の証言を紹介している。
