ＡＫＢ４８の姉妹グループで、大阪・難波を拠点とする「ＮＭＢ４８」が、２０１２年１１月７日に６枚目のシングルを発売する。
そのタイトルは「北川謙二」で、実在する人物名だ。斬新なタイトルにインターネット上では早くも注目が集まっている。「北川謙二」とは一体何者なのだろうか。

ＮＭＢ４８は新曲披露のため、２０１２年９月２４日放送の音楽番組「ＨＥＹ！ＨＥＹ！ＨＥＹ！」（フジテレビ系）に出演した。
ステージ上で、メンバーの山本彩さんが「新曲のタイトルが『北川謙二』なんです」と説明すると、スタジオに笑いが起きた。ＭＣの松本人志さんが「それは実際にいる人なんですか？」と聞くと、山本さんは「そうです。ＡＫＢさんのスタッフさんで、私たちも顔は知ってるんですけど、詳しくどういうことをされてるかは…」といい、あまり知らない人であることを明かした。
同じくＭＣの浜田雅功さんが「その人のことを歌ってるの？」と聞くと、メンバーの渡辺美優紀さんが「その人は脇役ですよね？」と助け舟を出し、山本さんが「北川謙二くんに男の子がやきもちをやいているっていう曲です」と説明。松本さんが「（作詞の）秋元（康）さんも、いよいよ来たよね」と言うと、スタジオが爆笑に包まれた。
