地震発生前から、銭湯の経営は明るいとは言えなかった。厚生労働省が発表した２００９年度の「衛生行政報告例」によると、主に銭湯を指す「一般公衆浴場」の数は全国で５４９４軒となり、前年度から２２８軒減少した。１９８９年度には１万２０００軒を超えていたが、その後は一貫して減り続けている。

虚偽を事実と思い込ませる（信じ込ませる）方法の一つに、記憶の改変、虚偽記憶の植え付けがあります。科学的検証や理性によってではなく、主に感情（正義感、愛情、良心、嫌悪、憎悪など）に訴える方法です。これは子供のころから施すのが一番効果がある。
中国・韓国・北朝鮮など反日感情の強い国が、映画やテレビで、繰り返し繰り返し日本人を憎たらしく描くのも、そうしたマインドコントロールの手法を利用しているわけで、実際それは効果を挙げています。
一方で往時の史料について容易にアクセスさせない。これは悪質ですね。
やはり時どきの状況を含めて、どこまでも客観的事実・証拠に基いて語られるべきでしょう。
それともうひとつ。
事実に対してあくまで真摯であろうとする国民性なら、「そうであってほしい」とか「そうあらねばならない」とか、そういう願望を事実に優先させる、中世の人みたいなマネはしないはずです。
ところがそういうのが多いんだな現代日本でも。韓国なんか国民全員そんな感じだもの。これはいけません。

Interestingly, the song was composed by the three members of the folk group The Easy Riders, who then accompanied Dean Martin on his #1 hit version which was recorded seven weeks after the Carson session. Because the trio was under contract to Columbia Records, they were unbilled on the Martin release.

The familiar waltz “Melody Of Love” achieved its greatest mainstream success in late 1954/early 1955 via Billy Vaughn’s million-selling single and the various other instrumental and vocal cover versions that immediately followed. It had been composed in 1903 by Hans Engleman （nee Engelmann）, and first recorded by Wayne in 1940 as a straight instrumental.
More well-remembered, though, is this later version spotlighting King’s radio announcer Franklyn MacCormack in a reading of Mary Carolyn Davies’ ode “Why I Love You,” which he recites over the piece. Up until his death in 1971, MacCormack continued to do sentimental readings as part of his late-nite WGN Chicago radio program.
Benny Goodman Sextet – Memories Of You（1940）
You may recall that Benny played this familiar ballad more than once in the soundtrack of the largely fictitious （but popular） 1956 film “The Benny Goodman Story.” Eubie Blake and Andy Razaf had written it many years earlier for the revue “Blackbirds of 1930.”

まず、研究チームは、オジギソウが水滴に対してどのような反応を示すのかを調査した。オジギソウに水滴を垂らすと、人の指で触れたときと同じように葉が閉じていくのだが、これを何度も行うと反応が見られなくなる。
その理由として「水は有害なものではない」とオジギソウが認識することによって、葉を閉じなくなるからだという。つまり、オジギソウは、動物を同じように学習することが分かったのだ。
また、調査によって、オジギソウは記憶することが判明した。研究者の１人は、「最も注目すべきポイントは、オジギソウが数週間前のことも記憶していることです。たとえ、環境が変わっても、覚えているのです」と述べている。
オジギソウは、なぜ、このようなことが可能なのか？ その詳細はまだ分かっていない。ただ、細胞内でのカルシウムをベースとした信号によるのではないかとされている。ちなみに、そのやり方は、動物が物事を記憶していく課程と、いくつかの点で類似性が見られるとのことだ。

「記憶する」は有機的デジタル信号かも知れないが、「学習する」は自己保存の本能と有害・無害・有益の価値判断をする「何か」がないといけないわけで、『ドグラ・マグラ』の細胞が記憶する話が連想される。
もしも細胞が記憶するなら、土葬は記憶の腐朽だし、火葬は記憶の焼却処分、水葬は記憶の流出、鳥葬は鳥にとって記憶の捕食、かもしれない。

オマラ氏は記憶に関する問題を以下の７つにまとめました。
◆1：Transience（一過性）
「一過性」とは、記憶が薄れてしまうというもの。例えば、7歳の時のクラスメイトの名前を全部思い出すことは難しいように、記憶は時と共に失われていってしまいます。
◆2：Blocking（ブロッキング）
「ブロッキング」は、ある記憶が他の記憶と干渉する時に発生するもので、近所の店などでよく会っている人と思いがけないところでばったり再会した時に、その人の名前がとっさに出てこないケースなどがこれに該当します。同様の現象として、喉まで出かかっているのになかなか思い出せないことを心理学用語で「舌先現象」、より専門的には「lethologica（レソロジカ）」と呼ぶそうです。
◆3：Absent-mindedness（上の空）
「上の空」は、注意力の欠如によって起こります。つまり、注意すべき時に注意を払わなかったせいで、そもそも記憶が符号化されなかったケースです。
◆4：Misattribution（誤帰属）
「誤帰属」は、記憶自体は正しいもののその記憶の帰属が誤っていることを指します。例えば、つり橋を女性と渡った時にドキドキした経験が誤って女性の魅力と結びつけられてしまうというつり橋理論も誤帰属の１つとされています。
◆5：Suggestibility（被暗示性）
「被暗示性」とは、新しい情報の提供や誘導尋問によって記憶がゆがめられてしまうことです。
◆6：Bias（バイアス）
「バイアス」とは、その人の感情や気分などの要素が、記憶を最初に獲得した時または記憶を思い出す際に記憶に及ぼす影響を指します。
◆7：Persistence（持続性）
「持続性」とは、邪魔な記憶が持続的に意識に入り込んでくることを指します。例えば、心的外傷後ストレス障害（PTSD）ではトラウマ（心的外傷）となった出来事の音や映像がよみがえることがよくあります。これらの７つのうち、オマラ氏が特に問題視しているのが「被暗示性」です。アメリカの科学的心理学会が刊行する査読付科学誌・Psychological Scienceで２０１５年に発表された研究では、３回の面接を行うだけで参加者の７０％に「若い頃に警察沙汰の事件を起こした」という完全に偽の記憶を植え付けることができたとの実験結果が報告されました。
