アズナブールは１９２４年生れですから団塊世代とは親子とまではいかなくともかなり齢が離れてます。でもこの歌は団塊世代（ベビーブーマー）の多くが「もう若くはない」と自覚し始めたころに、その心情とぴったり符合するものがあって大ヒットとなりました。

私はリンクにあるシャリー・バッシーの盤でよく聞いていました。
会社の中で私のことを「君」づけや「ちゃん」づけで呼んでくれた先輩方がどんどん定年や転職で消えていき、気がつくとまわりの人たちは私のことを「さん」づけで呼ぶ人ばかりになりました。年下が増えたということでしょうか。若くないことを気づかされる現象ですね。
昔は「老成」ということをある程度信じていたのですが、昨今横行する困った老人たちに出会うたびに「ありゃウソだなぁ」と（笑）。
自分がどう考えても若者でないという歳に実際なってしまうと、なおさら高齢者にガッカリすることが多くなるようです。
人間の性格なんてそうは変わらないわけで、ヤンチャな若者はヤンチャな老人になるし、イケイケの姉さんたちはお歳を召してもやっぱりキツイご性格のまま。会社でエラかった人は退職後も他人についついエラそうな態度をとってしまうものだし、志の高い人は老いても何か他人が感心するようなことをしてたりします。
“長幼の序”をいいことに「歳とってるから特別待遇せよ」という人は、若いころもワガママだったんだろうなぁ、なんて思いますね。
私の知り合いに介護関連の仕事に再就職した人がいましたが、私にはとてもじゃないがああいうのはできないでしょう。私は父親の介護を２年弱やりましたが肉親だから我慢できたようなもので、他人だったら「ばかやろ」「このやろ」「うるさい」「きたねーなー」・・・（笑）
アイビーファッションの『ＶＡＮ』のコピーは「for the young and the young-at-heart」。
後半の「the young-at-heart」はヤングじゃない人を想定した言葉ですね。
人間、若々しい気持でいることは良いことに違いないでしょうけど、歳相応の言動も求められてしまう。そのギャップというかジレンマについて、私自身も大いに戸惑っている状態です。
なんか、取りとめのない話になりました。
