On December 11, 1972, Apollo 17’s lunar module landed on the moon with astronauts Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt aboard; during three extravehicular activities (EVAs), they became the last two men to date to step onto the lunar surface.
Blast off and landing of Apollo 17, with pictures of the crater of orange dust, possibly volcanic ash, indicating some form of life perhaps a thousand million years ago.
