Cole Porter’s popular ballad was performed by Janet Blair and Don Ameche in the 1943 Columbia film “Something To Shout About.” The movie marked the screen debut of Cyd Charisse and also featured the music of Hazel Scott and the Teddy Wilson orchestra.
In anticipation of the impending 8/1/42 Recording Ban, Jurgens and several other artists had recorded this tune in late July, several months before the records were actually released, closer in time to the early 1943 opening of the film.
