aka The Blossoms

Out of Los Angeles, this interesting collaboration by Raul Abeyta, Roger Christian and Gary Usher features the vocals of the BLOSSOMS in one of the many sessions that they lent their vocals to disguised under a created group name. No doubt the ladies were simply hired to record the vocals and then went on to the next session. Recorded at Hollywood, Gold Star Studios, lead vocals are by group member, Jean King and the final mix displays the common practice of the day of increasing the pitch. ‘My Love And Life’ get filed into the category of being one of the shortest singles released clocking in at 1:35.

Wally Whyton – This Is The Life（1969）

Truly a jack of most trades – and master of many, Wally Whyton （1929-1997） got his start in music by forming the Vipers Skiffle Group in the late 50’s. He later was the host of several children’s TV shows where he would play his guitar. Always having an interest in folk and country music, he co-hosted a weekly radio show called “Country Meets Folk” for 6 years from the late 60’s to the early 70’s. In 1968 he recorded an album of mostly folk cover songs entitled “It’s Me Mum”. The following year he showed his songwriting talents with “Leave Them A Flower”, the title track being one of the first conservation songs ever written. “This Is The Life”, also written by Wally, is one of my favorite tracks on the album.
