The Wiley Walker-Gene Sullivan country song of 1941 was among the most popular tunes from Elvis’ second #1 LP, titled “Elvis.” It was also included on the four-track “Volume 1” extended play version of the album which sold so well （thanks in great part to the ballad “Love Me”） that it reached top 10 on the Billboard singles chart.

This catchy Frankie Yankovic polka was a top-10 jukebox hit on both the pop and country charts in 1948, followed a year later by their all-time sales champ “Blue Skirt Waltz” （see the 1949 HITS ARCHIVE）. The much-recorded “Just Because” is often credited to the Shelton Brothers who waxed it in 1933, but it had been introduced in 1929 by Nelstone’s Hawaiians and was possibly composed by Sydney Robin.

‘Nelstone’ was an amalgamation of the Alabama group’s members（and the song’s co-writers） Hubert Nelson and James Touchstone. The song was later popularized by The Shelton Brothers （who also claimed authorship） , was a major best-seller in the late’40s by the polka band of Frankie Yankovic, and was included on the first Elvis Presley LP in 1956
