ハリウッド・レポーター紙が伝えたところによると、プロデューサーのマイケル・セレンジーとクリスティーン・ピータースの二人が、名優マックィーンの伝記映画を企画しているそうだ。伝記映画はマーシャル・テリルの伝記小説「スティーヴ・マックィーン：ポートレイト・オブ・アン・アメリカン・レベル」（原題）を基にし、脚本は映画『エラゴン 遺志を継ぐ者』のジェシー・ウィグトウが手掛ける。映画では、『傷だらけの栄光』でスクリーンデビューを果たし、その後ハリウッドで世界的スターにまで登りつめ、1980年に肺がんにより50歳の若さで亡くなるまでのマックィーンの波乱の人生が映像化され、マックィーンの趣味のレースのことやニール・アダムス、アリ・マッグロー、バーバラ・ミンティとの3度の結婚歴と数々のロマンスも描かれる予定だ。
