トルコ政府によりますと、トルコ南部の地中海沿岸で７月２８日、山間部から火が出て周囲の山林や住宅地に燃え広がり、１日までに３２の県に被害が拡大しました。
この火事で、住民や消防隊員、合わせて７人が死亡、８６０人以上がけがをするなどして病院に運ばれたということです。
また、１日にはエーゲ海沿岸のリゾート地ボドルムにも火の手が迫り、住民や観光客が避難を余儀なくされました。
