ＵＳＧＳ＝アメリカの地質調査所によりますと、日本時間の午前５時５４分ごろ、アメリカのアラスカ州南部の沖合で地震がありました。
震源地は、アリューシャン列島のサンドポイントから南東に９１キロ、震源の深さはおよそ４０キロで、地震の規模を示すマグニチュードは７・５と推定されています。
気象庁によりますと、この地震による日本への津波の影響はありません。
現地を管轄する防災当局は震源に近いアラスカ州南部で津波のおそれがあるとして警戒を呼びかけ、地震発生からおよそ１時間半後には、サンドポイントで高さ６０センチの津波を観測したということです。
その後、日本時間の午前８時すぎ、津波警報を解除して注意報に切り替えました。
これまでのところ、被害の情報は入っていません。
