ハリケーン「デルタ」は、メキシコ湾を北上してアメリカ南部へと進んでいて、強い勢力を保ったまま現地時間の９日午後にもルイジアナ州に上陸する見通しです。

米最貧州の一つに数えられるルイジアナ州は最近、これ以上ないほどの被害を受けている。特に石油精製都市のレイクチャールズには、８月後半にハリケーン「ローラ」が、今月９日にはハリケーン「デルタ」が直撃した。
今年に入って米本土に上陸した名前付きのハリケーンまたは熱帯低気圧はデルタで１０個目となり、１年間で上陸した数としては史上最多を記録した。うち過半数の６個が、ルイジアナ州に何らかの形で影響を及ぼしている。
