This was one of the numerous tracks recorded in 1939-40 by Casa Loma for World Broadcasting System and issued on their 16-inch “broadcast transcription” discs for radio-only use. See also “Clementine (Of New Orleans)” and “Tumbling Tumbleweeds.”

Surprisingly, the 1929 musical “Great Day” that produced this song along with “More Than You Know” and the famous title tune lasted only one month on Broadway; and MGM’s planned 1930 film adaptation was halted during production and never finished. The Whiteman-Crosby “Great Day” was issued on the flip side of this Columbia ‘potato-head’ 78 release and is also included in the 1930 collection.
