COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Wednesday’s blizzard caused a series of issues throughout the state.
Gov. Jared Polis declared an emergency after the storm ripped through the Front Range.
Wind gusts hit up to 97 miles per hour–the highest ever recorded at the Colorado Springs Airport.
“This is one of those storms that Mother Nature wins, and until she decides to pull back, we won’t really be gaining a lot of ground,” Colorado Springs Streets Division Manager Corey Farkas said.
“Every storm that comes over that 14,000-foot peak over there is different, and this one is different than anything we have had in a number of years,” Farkas said.
There were massive trees uprooted, fences blown over, and a reported 18,000 people left for hours without electricity in El Paso County alone.<Blizzard winds knock down trees, cause damage across Colorado Springs – fox21news

Yesterday's #BombClyclone put on an infrared satellite clinic. The "cyclone's" pressure dropped over 24 mb within 24 hours, hence the "bomb" part. It spawned tornadoes across NM & TX, dumped nearly 4 feet of snow in Colorado and lashed San Augustin Pass, NM with a 104 mph gust. pic.twitter.com/iZ71vmZPd5
