米オクラホマ州の約３億６０００万年前の地層から、最古のエビ類の化石が見つかり、新属新種に分類したと、ケント州立大（オハイオ州）のロドニー・フェルドマン名誉教授らが１０日までに、甲殻類の専門誌電子版に発表した。これまで最古のエビ類とされていた化石は、マダガスカル島の約２億４５００万年前の地層から発見されており、大幅にさかのぼるという。
発見者の名前などから「アキクロポーダ・マペシ」と名付けられた化石は、長さが８センチ弱。尾の筋肉の形がよく保存されており、死んでからすぐ、酸性で酸素が少ない海底に埋もれたと考えられる。

But note that this is the seldom-heard original hit 45 take with the line “We’ll be falling in love,” as opposed to the commonly-heard stereo version which features an alternate vocal take and the different line “We’ll be making love.”
There are two versions of the song. The mono 45 USA released version contains the line “We’ll be falling in love”. Beneath the line “We’ll be falling in love” on the stereo album version, the line “We’ll be making love” can be heard. These are two entirely different recordings, not edits of one another, as the line “on a blanket with my baby is where I’ll be” is sung differently in each version. The version appearing on the Drifters’ Golden Hits compilation is a composite of the two, using “making love” in the first two choruses and “falling in love” in the third. 俳優の故・森繁久彌さん（享年９６歳）の元邸宅に続く東京・世田谷区船橋の道路の通称が「森繁通り」と正式に決まり、１３日、千歳船橋駅前で命名式が行われた。森繁さんがひいきにした、すし店が新メニュー「ひさや巻」を考案するなど、通り沿いの商店街は命名を機に、活性化に力を入れる。
「ひさや巻」をメニューに加えたのは「寿司清」。森繁さんが好きだった穴子や卵焼きなどが入った太巻きに、三つ葉を刻み込んだ。店主の三日月清一さん（５３）によると、数十年前、父で先代の清さんが生前の森繁さんに直接、許可をもらい「森繁通り」と愛称で呼び始めたという。「世代が替わっても、通りの名前として残るのは、いいことだと思う」（三日月さん）。１４日から６３０円で提供する。
また、喫茶店「珈琲工房HORIGUCHI」は、豆の「森繁通りブレンド」を１３日から販売開始。

イスラエル北部ネタニヤで７日、第２次世界大戦中にナチス・ドイツの迫害から救うためにユダヤ人に「命のビザ」を発給した外交官、杉原千畝（ちうね、１９００～８６）の名を冠した「スギハラ通り」の命名式があった。没後３０年を記念する事業で、四男でベルギー在住の伸生（のぶき）さん（６７）も出席。「とても誇りに思う。若者たちの将来の道につながればいい」と語った。
