南太平洋のニュージーランド領トケラウ諸島沖でボートに乗って消息を絶った１４～１５歳の少年３人が、偶然通りかかったマグロ漁船によって約５０日ぶりに発見、保護された。ニュージーランドのドミニオン・ポスト紙（電子版）が２６日、伝えた。
３人は同諸島の先住民で先月５日、アタフ島を出港。今月２４日に同島から約１３００キロ南西にある仏領ウォリス・フツナ諸島沖の海上で発見された。
漂流している間、ボートにたまった雨水を飲んだり、魚やカモメを捕らえて生で食べたりしていたという。救出されるまでの数日間は、降雨がなく、海水を飲んでいた。救助された時にはやせ細り、日焼けがひどかったが、比較的元気な様子で、船内で点滴を受けるとすぐに旺盛な食欲を見せた。

1975年11月10日にスペリオル湖で起きたばら積み貨物船SSエドモンド・フィッツジェラルド号の沈没をテーマにし、カナダのシンガーソングライター、ゴードン・ライトフットが作詞・作曲・演奏した1976年のヒット曲。
事実関係と歌詞には若干の相違がある。
のち邦題表記が『エドモンド・フィッツジェラルド号の難破』になっている。

警視庁外事３課の内部資料とみられる国際テロに関する文書がインターネット上に流出した問題で、国内在住のイスラム系外国人の個人情報などがそのまま掲載された本が出版されたことがわかった。
出版した第三書館（東京都新宿区）の北川明社長は「警察の情報管理の甘さを問題提起したかった」と説明しているが、実名や住所が掲載された外国人は「今すぐ書店から本を回収してほしい」と訴えている。警視庁が流出を公式に認めないことで、出版差し止めなどの措置が取れず被害が拡大している形だ。
本は「流出『公安テロ情報』全データ」（４６９ページ、税抜き２０００円）と題するもので、今月２５日に出版。一部の書店ではすでに販売されている。出版物取次店では取り扱っていない会社もある。
ネット上に流出した警視庁の内部資料とみられる文書がそのままの形で掲載され、捜査対象とされたイスラム系外国人の実名や顔写真などのほか、捜査協力者の氏名、国際テロ捜査に携わる警察官の顔写真や住所なども載っている。

あー、やっちゃいましたね。
ネットに流出した時点で「１００％公開」ですから、建てまえ上はせいぜい「怪文書」を集めた本。
でも、実名・顔写真が出て命を狙われる人もいるわけで、そういう点で無責任にすぎるでしょう。

東京都新宿区の出版社「第三書館」が、襲撃された仏週刊紙「シャルリーエブド」に掲載されたイスラム教の預言者ムハンマドの風刺画を転載した小冊子を発行したことに対し、在日パキスタン人の男性ら約３０人が１３日、同社近くの路上で抗議活動をした。
男性らは約１時間にわたって「宗教を侮辱するのはやめろ」などと声を上げた。抗議に参加したさいたま市在住の男性（５３）は「これまで平和に過ごしてきたのに残念だ。表現の自由は分かるが、他人の内心を踏みにじる自由はあるのだろうか」と話した。

石巻市雄勝町波板地区の故伊藤恭一さん＝当時（６６）＝が愛用していた和船が、米ハワイ・オアフ島の海岸に漂着した。東日本大震災の津波で流されたとみられる。家族や波板地区の住民は「震災を忘れるなというメッセージかもしれない」と、古里での展示・保存を望む。
船は「第２勝丸」（約０・５トン）。４月２２日にオアフ島の女性が見つけた。原形をとどめ、現地で保管されている。発見の連絡は女性の知人の日本人男性らを通じ、伊藤さんの次女早苗さん（４３）＝東松島市＝に伝えられた。
恭一さんは捕鯨船などで船乗りとして働いた。退職後、第２勝丸を釣り船として使用。２００３年４月に病気で死亡後、船は手放され、０４年７月に廃船処理された。その後の所有者は特定できていないという。

意外かもしれませんが、「クルーズ(cruise)」の語源はラテン語のcrux「十字」です。
