大西洋における今年１号ハリケーン「ハナ（Hanna）」が、現地時間２５日（土）テキサス州南部に上陸しました。
一方、現在太平洋では、この海域における今年第１号のハリケーン「ダグラス（Douglas）」が発生しています。ダグラスは、２６日（日）にもはワイを直撃する見込みです。

ハワイ時間２５日（土）朝のダグラスの中心気圧は984hPa、最大風速は41m/sです。カテゴリーはもっとも低い「1」に相当します。
ダグラスは今後も勢力を維持したまま、２６日（日）から２７日（月）頃にかけ、ハワイに直撃・最接近するおそれが出ています。もっとも直撃のリスクが高まっているオアフ島には「ハリケーン警報」が発令されています。
ハワイ最接近時の予想最大瞬間風速は41m/sです。また降水量は２５０ミリか、それ以上となっています。

ハワイはハリケーンの直撃が少ないことで知られています。これまでにハリケーンの強さでハワイに上陸した例は、１９５９年の「ドット」と、１９９２年の「イニキ」しかありません。つまり、少なくともここ２８年間はハリケーンの上陸がないのです。
