タール火山はルソン島にある複合火山で、フィリピンでは２番目に活発な火山。
過去、３３回の噴火が確認されており、それらのすべてが同火山のカルデラ湖「タール湖」の中央にある火山島に集中している。

フィリピンの首都マニラ近郊で１２日午後に火山が噴火し、当局が近隣住民らに避難を指示した。
噴火したのはルソン島にあるタール火山で、マニラの南方約６０キロに位置している。
