A major 7.7-magnitude earthquake shook an area in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of the US state of Alaska early Saturday, the United States Geological Survey said.
The epicenter of the quake, which occurred at 0858 GMT, was located 102 kilometers (63 miles) west of Craig, Alaska, according to the USGS.
There were no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
The Pacific Tsunami Warning Center said there was no widespread threat of a tsunami at this time, but it issued a regional warning affecting the Alaskan coast in the proximity of the epicenter.

米地質調査所（ＵＳＧＳ）によると、アラスカ州南東部の沖で４日午後１１時５８分（日本時間５日午後５時５８分）、マグニチュード（Ｍ）７・７の地震があった。震源地は州都ジュノーの南３３５キロ。震源の深さは９・６キロ。

米地質調査所によると、４日午後１１時５８分（日本時間５日午後５時５８分）、米アラスカ州沖の太平洋でマグニチュード（Ｍ）７．５の強い地震が発生した。震源は同州南東部沖で、深さは約１０キロ。太平洋津波警報センターは津波情報を出した。震源付近で小さな津波が観測された。
