戦争による北方領土の奪還論に言及して日本維新の会を除名処分となり、野党６党派による辞職勧告決議案を提出された丸山穂高衆院議員（３５）と同姓の国会議員、自民党の丸山和也参院議員（７３）や事務所に、今回の問題が発生以降、とばっちりともいえる抗議が数多く寄せられていることが１７日、分かった。
丸山参院議員の事務所によると、丸山氏の「戦争」発言が大々的に報じられるようになった今月１４日以降、抗議やクレームの電話が相次ぎ、その数は、これまでに数十件に及ぶという。
「丸山違い」から生じた事実誤認であることから、この間、丸山参院議員のスタッフは、説明に追われてきた。丸山参院議員は早大法学部出身だが、丸山氏と同じ東大経済学部出身のＯＢが苦情の電話をかけてきたこともあったという。

ユニークなワードほど一発でヒットしやすいわけで、これからは検索で出やすいかどうかもネーミングの要件だろう。

日本人の氏名の英語表記について、柴山文部科学大臣は以前の審議会の答申を踏まえ、名字を先にするよう関係機関などに要請する考えを示しました。
日本人の氏名の英語表記は、一般的に欧米にならって名字と名前を逆さまにしていますが、平成１２年に当時の文部省の国語審議会は、言語や文化の多様性を生かすため名字を先にするのが望ましいとする答申を出しています。
これに関連して、柴山文部科学大臣は記者会見で「答申から２０年近くが経過したが必ずしも趣旨が十分に共有されていない。残念ながら私の名刺もローマ字の表記は、名前、名字の順番になっている」と述べました。
そのうえで、まずは文部科学省の英語のホームページなどの表記を変更する考えを示すとともに「強制力を持った形で行うことを想定しているわけではないが、関係機関や報道機関などに要請していきたい」と述べました。

河野外務大臣は、記者会見で「習近平国家主席がシー・チーピンとかムン大統領がムン・ジェインという風に表記する外国の報道機関が多いわけで、安倍晋三も同様にアベ・シンゾーと表記してもらうことが望ましい。

語順が違えば、別物だ。
姓―名の順で表記する伝統の国は東欧にもある。
ついでにいわゆるサイン（シグネチャ）も、無理してローマ字表記する必要はない。
漢字・ひらがな・カタカナを普通に使えば宜しい。

 

コートやトラックを描くあの道具、「ライン引き」「ラインカー」という名前らしい。
白い粉「ラインパウダー」は昔は消石灰（水酸化カルシウム）、１９９０年代からは炭酸カルシウムや石膏など、より安全性の高い別の素材になったそうだ。

　理化学研究所は５月２３日、スーパーコンピュータ「京」の後継機の名称を「富岳」（ふがく）に決めたと発表した。２０２１年ごろに運用を始める予定で、京の最大１００倍の実行性能を目指す。富岳は「京」と同様、理研 計算科学研究センター（神戸市）に設置する。

　富岳は「富士山」の別名。富士山のように高く（性能が高く）、裾野が広く（対象分野が広く）、海外での知名度も高くなってほしい――などの理由から名付けた。各国のスーパーコンピュータの名称は山にちなんだものが多く、発音がしやすいことも考慮したという。
　その他の候補は「穹」（きゅう）、「叡」（えい）、「Ｙｕｋａｗａ」（ゆかわ）、「凌駕」（りょうが）、「光明」（こうみょう）、「解」（かい）など。応募数の１位は「垓」（がい）、２位は「雅」（みやび）、３位は「極」（ごく）だったが、公募時に提示していた「世界トップレベルの性能をアピールする」「親しみやすい名称」などの条件を加味して採用しなかった。

Nancy and the Millionaires – Atooka, Okla（1966）
Okla は 通常 Oklahoma の略語として使われている。

Talk about rare and obscure, this fantastic east coast rockabilly scarcity practically never surfaces so when it ever does, original copies fetch a pretty penny. Composed by Nancy Zoppi who is also the vocalist for this ensemble,’Atooka, Okla.’ is a just under two minute slab of vinyl that takes off right out of the chute and never lets up. According to Nancy, if her memory serves her correctly, the track was recorded in 1960 or 1961 but the record （with’Atoka, Okla.’ spelled incorrectly as’Atooka, Okla.’） wasn’t pressed until 1966. A group photo taken with a silver 1960 Cadillac convertible with all of its shark tailfin glory would suggest that Nancy is correct in dating the recording. Nancy Zoppi would continue to be a part of several other musical groups after this Frankie single, most notably her stint with three other woman as the SENORITA BRASS. Somewhat of a nod to Herb Alpert and his outfit, the gals played all of the instruments with Nancy out front on lead vocal. There are some marvelous photos of the group which feature their impeccably coiffed hairdos and matching outfits with their instruments.

But those HIT’s, clandestinely recorded without union authorization by anonymous artists （somewhere across the border, according to some rumors）, did provide record buyers with something they could not obtain anywhere else…newly-produced big band recordings of various popular song hits that emerged during the year 1943. Usually the only option for the crippled domestic labels was to release the tune via a cappella vocal arrangements.

Some issues of this’folk’ recording showed the title as “My Blue Mountain Home.” It was recorded in March 1927, released in September of that year, and reached its peak of popularity in early 1928.

　神戸・ポートアイランドのスーパーコンピューター「京（けい）」の電源が落とされる８月３０日まで、２カ月余りとなった。理化学研究所（理研）は９月以降に解体を始め、同じ場所に後継機となるスパコン「富岳（ふがく）」を整備するという。開発費などで７９３億円もかかった「京」のハードウエアは、移設したり一部を活用したりできないのか？

　京は、理研と富士通が開発。世界で初めて毎秒１京回（京は兆の１万倍）を超える計算速度を達成し、本格稼働前の２０１１年にランキングで世界一になった。１２年６月に米国のスパコンに抜かれ、１８年１１月現在では世界１８位。しかし、国内ではトップ３に入り、依然として高性能であることに変わりはない。
　このままどこかに移設するなど再利用の道も考えられるが、「現実的ではない」（理研）という。京は本格稼働した１２年９月から約７年がたっており、電気代や冷却用の水道代、メンテナンス費用など、年間約１００億円の維持費が必要。経年劣化する中、巨額な経費をかけて運用する施設はなさそうだ。
　では、全体で８６４台あるラック（筐体（きょうたい））を分割し、全国の大学などに設置してはどうだろう。
　これについては理研も最低の構成単位の４台ずつで分割設置できないかどうか検討したという。しかし、新たに水冷施設なども造らなければならず、移設に約６千万円、年間の運用費に１億円以上かかる。さらに、今後の保守点検作業も保証できないため「実現は困難」と判断された。
　それなら分解して、基盤（システムボード）や記憶装置（メモリー）、中央演算処理装置（ＣＰＵ）を販売してはどうか。「基板やＣＰＵは京専用に設計されており一般のパソコンでは利用できない」と理研。結局、「移設は不可能」との結論に至ったという。
