\nTremors from an earthquake with a 5.2 magnitude shuddered the eastern province of Malatya in Turkey on Aug. 4, according to the country\u2019s Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).
\nThe quake, with its epicenter in the P\u00fct\u00fcrge district of Malatya, struck at about 12.37 p.m. local time, AFAD said, adding that it occurred at a depth of 8.16 kilometers (around 5 miles).
\nInterior Minister S\u00fcleyman Soylu said on Twitter that no damage had been reported so far from the provincial governor’s office.
\nCiting field researches conducted by AFAD, police and gendarmerie teams, as well as based on information received from local authorities, the provincial governor’s office said in a statement that no casualties were reported.
\nThe respective authorities started to work on damage assessment of buildings, it added.
\nThe statement also urged those people, whose properties were damaged, not to return to their homes until the damage assessment work is completed, adding that this is “very important in terms of life safety of citizens” due to the aftershocks in the region.<\/p>\n

\nISTANBUL (Reuters) – A magnitude 5.7 earthquake shook southeast Turkey\u2019s Malatya province on Tuesday, the Kandilli Observatory and Earthquake Research Institute said.
\nIt said that the quake struck at a depth of about 5 kilometres. Turkey\u2019s Disaster and Emergency Management Directorate (AFAD) said the quake was magnitude 5.2.
\nThe mayor of Puturge, at the epicentre of the quake, told broadcaster CNNTurk it had caused some damage, but there were no immediate reports of casualties.<\/p>\n
